The CSO Week stands as an important annual event facilitating dialogue and collaboration among civil society organizations (CSOs) and between CSOs and the government in Tanzania and is organized by a group of CSOs in Tanzania, led by the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS)Originating in Dodoma in October 2018, the inaugural CSO Week marked the beginning of an enduring tradition that has since evolved into a cornerstone of Tanzania’s civil society landscape. Over the past six years, CSO Week has continually grown in prominence, attracting participation from more than 3000 civil society actors each year.
At its core, CSO Week serves as a dynamic platform for exhibitions, discussions, networking, and outreach events. It provides a space for CSOs to converge, exchange ideas, and collectively address pressing issues vital to Tanzania’s future. What began as an initiative primarily focused on fostering engagement with the government has metamorphosed into a highly esteemed event renowned for its effective methodologies and impactful dialogue.
