Call for Proposals – For Zanzibar Civil Society Organizations
The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) is an independent Tanzanian not-for-profit development organization that provides grants and capacity building services to Tanzania based Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). Since its inception, FCS has contributed immensely to the capacity strengthening of the civil society sector in Tanzania thereby (in) directly enabling CSOs and citizens to become key driving forces for positively influencing democratic governance in Tanzania.
Foundation for Civil Society in partnership with Search for Common Ground – USA and Tanzania (SFCG) are executing an 18-month project known as DUMISHA AMANI – Zanzibar that was launched in March 2021.
Geographically, the project is being implemented across all regions in Unguja and Pemba.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS PROJECT
Specific objectives of the project being jointly implemented by FCS and SFCG include the following:
- Enhance Capacity of different stakeholders in communities including religious leaders, government leaders, influential leaders, shehas, so that they become effective in maintaining peace in their communities.
- Foster dialogues and collaboration among government and community stakeholders to act as informal mediators and champions for peace in their communities.
- To increase community awareness in the joint conflict prevention efforts and avenues to address disagreements and conflicts peacefully.
In order to achieve the above goals and objectives FCS and SCFG seeks to invite applications from grassroots
CSO’s working in Zanzibar (Unguja and Pemba only) with understanding, experience and capacity to implement
